Music from the deepest of the soul…' After the succesful debut of The Wounded from 2000, called 'The Art of Grief' the new album appears on March 25 and is called 'Monument'. The band shows us a big step ahead compared to the debut album. Your can hear that in the songwriting, playing and production.

On 'Monument' the band combines melodies alike The Cure with melancholy alike Katatonia. The experimental parts of old Pink Floyd mixed with the atmosphere of Anathema and Paradise Lost. The band succeeds in giving all these influences their own typical sound, and because of that 'Monument' sounds modern and refreshing but also very close and familiar.
A lot of the lyrics by singer Marco are realisticly written stories about deep human feelings when suffering from a trauma or the moment of dying and the thoughts and emotions that someone is experiencing at that moment.
